Highlight of the review – Chicken Burger

Last weekend we got to review another unique little eatery in Mysore, Bell Platter. A perfect place for your brunch date or dinner, this place reminded us of cafes in Goa. With its bright sunny walls, contemporary wooden furniture, and aesthetic paintings up on the sunny walls, the place wins you over with its ambiance almost instantly.

We made our way to the review just in time on a Saturday afternoon for brunch, and fortunately enough we were quickly accommodated, in an otherwise, almost full restaurant. We took that as a good sign and it sure increased our expectations from what was to come. The staff at the Bell Platter, is polite and swift with their service. Within minutes of us being seated, we were served chilled jaljeera shots and sprouts salad platter. Now the good part is, that’s not just special privilege to food reviewers, those are actually served to all guests. I liked the salad, I thought it was a healthy option to serve, as opposed to a conventional papad or peanuts served at other places, but what I loved, was the concept of jaljeera shots. They were just so yummy! Chilled and mildly spicy, those are just what you need to kick start your brunch on a very sunny afternoon.

As always, we started by ordering some classic starters, I ordered myself a Paneer Bell Pepper, while Nisheet ordered a Pepper Chicken and Chicken Sizzler for himself. The quality of starters is definitely worth writing home about. Nisheet really liked both the starters but he loved the fact that the chicken was super tender and it took zero effort to chew it. The case was pretty much the same with my Paneer Bell Pepper. The Paneer in the dish just dissolved in my mouth! Yep it was that soft. Just a little heads up though, I found my dish to be little heavier on the  sweet side in flavor which didn’t make it as great for me as I would like, but if you’re okay with sweet-salty kind of flavor then I’d say go for it.

For our main course I ordered a Veg Lasagne while Nisheet went with his all time favourite – Chicken Burger. Now here’s the thing, if you plan on ordering a Lasagne at Bell Pepper, I’d suggest you make some space in your stomach before leaving. Its so wholesome, and heavy that its almost overwhelming. I loved the whole preparation of the dish, the lasagne was soft and had great flavors to it, I pretty much loved it, but that’s not even the half of it! While I was just enjoying my lasagne silently , Nisheet was overwhelmed with happiness! Nisheet is our burger connoisseur, ( Yeah, yeah we are aware they don’t exist, but if they did, Nisheet would definitely be one) a die hard Burger lover Nisheet can tell you secrets to making a great Burger, and he can tell when a burger is good and when it is great. He loved the chicken burger so much so, that even when he got full, he didn’t give up on it! He actually ate it all! Therefore, you can imagine that this was no ordinary burger. Stuffed with thick and juicy chicken patty, with crunchy fries and mayo on the side, this Burger was any foodie’s dream! A must try for every burger lover, this one is not be missed, while you are Bell Platter.

So if you happen to be in Mysore, this is a place you must visit once! Great ambiance, great hospitality and delicious food, there’s not a thing that is not to be liked about this place! We recommend!
